The beauty of swans cannot be argued against. To capture a photo of these creatures in the right lighting and balance of scenery is quite a wonderful feat to accomplish. Unfortunately in my area, the Mute Swan is considered an invasive species. Their numbers increase yearly and they are very aggressive and will chase out other local species. They also have a large appetite and could each over 36,000kg of plants a year. This reduces the amount of food for many other local species. They are also considered pests as they can be very aggressive towards people as well.

The lesser common swans in our area are the Trumpeter and the Tundra Swans. No matter, they are a beautiful species and their young are a delight to capture.
